Garden at the Tomb of Ming Mang
Unique, original hand coated Van Dyke Brown print on Arches Platine cotton rag paper.
The print is sold mounted with the whole print visible within a single mat of archival mountboard. All materials are acid free. These are variable edition prints so each print within an edition is unique and subtly different from others in the same edition.
Hand-printed to order by the artist.
Bob Marshall is a printmaker who makes prints from old processes invented in the Victorian era. Each of his prints is individually made by hand and is a unique work of art. Bob creates his own photosensitive paper by coating cotton rag art paper with his home made sensitisers using an artist’s brush. Brush strokes in the final print are part of the charm of the process. The print is made by exposing a large transparent negative on to the paper and then wet processing the print followed by washing and drying. For Bob photography is the inspiration for fine art printmaking.
Bob has been a keen photographer throughout his life and uses a variety of cameras to create his images. He still often uses old vintage film cameras and pinhole cameras as well as on occasion modern digital cameras. He has had portfolios published in PhotoArt International and work accepted in the London Salon and in Royal Photographic Society members and international exhibitions. He regularly exhibits his work during Bucks Open Studios and is a member of the BOS Committee. Bob’s prints are held in private collections in the UK and abroad.
Bob will be part of a 5-man photography show taking place at Obsidian Art from 16 October to 8 November 2015.
